No we are not crazy and this is USD and not some other currency either. Clearly there has to be a good reason for such a price. Well so think Mitsubishi having launched the world’s first laser powered television. Although a bit late (originally slated for 3rd quarter of 2008 release), it still comes in as the world’s first. There are quite a few features that make this interesting, shall we say.

Microsoft Secondlight is a prototype based on the currently slated for release Microsoft Surface (but only available for purchase by large companies and retailers). Secondlight is fairly similar to Surface in that you get a tabletop display that is touch or pressure responsive but the new feature is that it has a second additional display that is not visible on the surface itself.

Well they are getting better, honest! JPR (Jon Peddie Research) has calculated that there has been about a 22% rise in shipments of GPUs over the previous year for the third quarter of 2008. This is in spite of recessionary fears that haveĀ been haunting consumers for some time now. In other news, ATI finally seems to be giving Nvidia something to worry about.
