Here we go…Nikon finally announced another addition to the lineup for scalable linear recording cameras, that is, the new D3X. The highly professional shooter substitues the Nikon D3 (ex- top of the line in SLR) and the same time is in contest with Canon’s EOS-1Ds Mark 3. To have the stunning 24.5-megapixel is like a dream come true for any pro-photographer.

The superbly engineered D3X is capable of capturing images at a very low noise, and provides photographers with high quality results, extreme resolution, dynamic range, color depth, detaill and sharpness in all disciplines of pro-photography. From photojournalism and sideline sports to commercial in-studio applications. D3X somehow the other dazzles you when seize it in your hands, but on the same time, it is not much different from the previous edition.

The body is almost or virtually identical along with the specifications to that of D3. The new Nikon has a senstivity range of ISO 100 to ISO 1600, but on a thwarting note its extending ISO range reaches upto 6400 (vs. the D3’s 25,600). On the other hand, the 922,000 dot, 3-inch LCD allows the photographer to shoot with two Live View shooting modes; handheld or tripod shooting. It is expected that D3X will be available at Nikon Authorised Professional Dealers in December 2008 for an estimated price of $7999*
