Fujitsu LifeBook U820: A must see!

December 18, 2008 – 8:28 am | by Steve

The 5.6″ high resolution display, ultra-mobile convertible notebook is the latest in line by Fujistu. The four (4) cell battery, claiming 7.5 hours of battery life (in one stretch) makes this UMPC handle any sort of situation. Not only this, the U820 has lots of other features which makes it worthy enough to spend a $1000 as compared to other standard notebooks.

Before speaking of specs, lets have a look at its physical appearance. The LifeBook U820 in terms of size, fits somewhere between a cell phone and a netbook. It gets bigger when you use it with a single hand  and too small when used with both, kind of semi-normal when typing.

The body chemistry is really awesome as the glossy black lid and the pinstripe body go very well together and since it is a business UMPC it was not expected it to be as extravagant as other standard netbook models available in the market.

Moving on to the specs, U820 has a 5.6″ WXVGA high resolution display with 1280×800 screen resolution. Also U820 comes with a passive touch screen and a built in GPS system with Garmin navigation software. It works well indoors but NOT best when used with the external antenna provided. This particular Fujistu comes with Intel Atom Z530 and Intel GMA 500 integrated graphics, and offers SD and CF slots.

In all, the Fujistu U820 is an impressive little machine with lots and lots to offer for someone who is always on the go. The only complaint that it can register is the soaring price of $999.
