Facebook clinches top spot from Orkut in India

Facebook social networking site becomes the top social network site in India by clinching top spot from Orkut social network application. Orkut group owned by world largest search Giant Google comes behind Facebook application in India market.  Orkut social networking site was on the top position for last number of years in India, but for last one year number of unique users for Facebook was fiercely increased. Facebook Access not available for BlackBerry users on their phones still the ban on the Facebook was lifted in the month of May, 2010. Ban on Facebook and Youtube was imposed by all cellular service providers on the directives of Pakistan Telecom Authority to suspend the internet service facility through BlackBerry services on the Blackberry phones.

Google, Yahoo, Amazon and Youtube all of the social web portals are monitored by PTA authority for sacrilegious materials. The directives have been issued by government of Pakistan to the concern authorities to monitor the seven social networking web sites like including Google, MSN, Yahoo, Bing, Amazon and YouTube, block the links that contains the blasphemous and anti-Islamic contents.

Last month Pakistan government banned access to the one of the largest social network sites like YouTube and Facebook because of publishing page “Draw Muhammad Competition”.  Ban was imposed by Pakistan Telecom Authority on the orders of Pakistan high court. Facebook ban was lifted after two weeks.

Today on 31st May, 2001 Pakistan High Court ordered to lift the Ban on Facebook social networking website.  The ban was forced on Facebook one of the largest social networking website in Pakistan from last week that is 19th May 2010. Ban was imposed on Facebook due to the publishing the page “Draw Muhammad Competition”. It is against the Islamic values and norms causing angry in the Muslim communities particularly in Pakistan.

Facebook one of the largest social networking website was blocked by the Pakistan telecom Authority on last Wednesday because of hosting page “Draw Prophet Muhammad Day”.   Access had been blocked of all the social website because All Pakistanis were angry on the act specially with Facebook over “blasphemous” caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Therefore, Muslims all over the world boycott specially in Pakistan Boycott from using Facebook.

Facebook one of the huge social networking website was banned last Wednesday in Pakistan due to displaying blasphemous drawing of our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).  According to the ProPakistan.pk a technology blog have conducted the public poll about the Facebook banned scenario. Apparently, it was found that 70 percent of Pakistani want permanent ban on Facebook and on the other side 14 percent supports Lahore High Court orders for banning Facebook Social networking website and block access to YouTube till 31st, 2010.
